Lapel pins, are pins often worn on the lapel of a suit or a jacket. They are mostly ornamental but can also show affiliation to an organization or a charity but are also used as symbols of achievement. In the past boutonnières were more widely used than lapels. Nowadays, boutonnières are used more on special occasions such as weddings, homecomings or funerals. Showing one's fondness or support to a cause or feeling nostalgic for Prussia's rich history is sure to love this pin. It is the miniature version of Prussia's crown jewel: the Hohenzollern crown or the Crown of Wilhelm II. The imperial crown is the only crown that was made for the German monarch Emperor Wilhelm II during his reign as King of Prussia. After the king's abdication in 1912 following the end of World War I, he was allowed to bring the crown with him during his exile to the Netherlands and is now exhibited in the Hohenzollern Castle. So be sure to take a piece of history home with you!

Lapel Pins

The manufacturing of lapel pins start off very similar to animation. The outline of the design is hand drawn with a blue line - done so digitally or on paper with a light-box to plan out all of the elements and artwork that make up the design. Once the design is approved, it is inked, colored, and placed on a mechanical sheet - which is like a blueprint for the pin - with the appropriate measurements and call outs for manufacturing the parts.
