The Prussian Crown Jewels
The Prussian Crown Jewels (German: Preußischen Kronjuwelen), is the royal regalia used during the coronation of the monarchs of Prussia from the House of Hohenzollern. They consist of two crowns, an orb and sceptre. On the foundation of the German Empire in the 1871, the King of Prussia became German Emperor, and these regalia were still remaining, but no longer used as the position of King of Prussia, while it was a title of minor importance compared to the new role as German Emperor. Since that time, the crown existed only in the heraldic version, because the German Empire not used the crown.
The Prussian crown jewels were sometimes described as "rather plain", in contrast with the lavish, heavily bejewelled crowns of other monarchies (e.g. British, Russian).
