And because it comes with a stand, this coaster can also serve as a decorative element in your home. A wonderful gift for anyone who appreciates art and beautiful things.

Brandenburg Gate

The Brandenburg Gate was built in 1788 and completed in 1791 by Carl Gotthard Langhans. It is one of the most renowned landmarks of Germany. It is built on the site of a former city gate that marked the beginning of the road from Berlin to the town of Brandenburg an der Havel. Its location is within distance of the Reichstag where the German parliament sits. Its construction was sanctioned by King Frederick William II of Prussia and became a powerful symbol during the division of Germany after WWII. The Berlin Quadriga, designed by Johann Gottfried Schadow in 1973, sits atop the Brandenburg Gate.  It was called the Quadriga of Victory with the olive wreath representing peace.
