Huge Papyrus sheet 2m by 1m natural border
Handmade just like in the Old days
Papyrus (lat. cyperus papyrus = papyrus bush) was used as writing paper or for literary and religious documentation, which were also sometimes presented in color.
Papyrus sheets can be decorated with acrylic, aquarelle, watercolors, ink pens and even pastille chalk. It can also be used for decorative purposes for certificates, wrapping paper, bookmarks or even just to color on.
Papyrus is still produced in the same handmade process as it was in the ancient times; page by page.
The papyrus plant is harvested, cut in stripes and exactingly put on top of each other and pressed. That way the water is divested and the page smoothened.
The actual process is explained in the included instructions that are free of charge. This way you can learn more about the antique papyrus-production process in detail for yourself.
