mc escher prints, mc escher posters and mc escher art are well known - what is less known are the official prints that are applied to products like our shopper bags, mugs, paper and other items that you will all find on artsinhistory.com - as the Escher works are copyrighted and exclusive, well controlled by the MC Escher foundation, the works that are offered here are of particular value.

Maurits Cornelis Escher (1898-1972)

was an extaordinary artist who combined mathematics - although he always claimed that he never studied maths himself, geometry, lithography and graphics. Moreover, he was deeply mystical in his approach to nature and world, incorporating natural elements as much as industrial features. Moreover, space and time he challenged in the wake of mystical philosophers like Albert the Great, Meister Eckhart and Immanuel Kant. Like those great philosophers of a Neoplatonic tradition, he also bridged out cultures like the Western and the Islamic Eastern worlds by emphasising graphic designs that were deeply influence by Islamic features like tiles, as those of the great Spanish Muslim world, or Northern Africa.

Beyond Modernity
It is no surprise that MC Escher became not even fully discovered being featured on Douglas Hofstadter, Goedel, Escher, Bach monograph of the year 1979, but much later, over the last few years in the 21st century. In many ways he had a sense of an abstract and rather academic way of seeing the world, while at the same time, undermining our perceptions of it. Hence, is first major exhibition, for example, in Britain was held only in 2015.

With our product range, we'd like to promote MC Escher artworks and make it available to you, as it is highly inspirational and a wonderful gift.
