CARDBOARD KIT HISTORICAL GLADIATOR TRACIAN

Which one could be more fascinating than the history of Spartacus, the Roman gladiator who led a slave rebellion against the Roman Empire? Spartacus is possibly the most well-known Thracian gladiator in history. During the Third Servile War 73-71 BC, which was also called Gladiator War or referring to its leader War of Spartacus, the Roman gladiator roamed Italy with an army of freed slaves and won more than one battle, until he was finally defeated himself. The Thracian (Thraex) is well-armed with a scimitar and fights a Murmillo.

CARDBOARD KIT TRACIAN / THRAEX VERSUS MURMILLO

The designation Thracian (Thraex) for gladiators is a result of the Roman campaigns in the Balkan area, when countless Thracians were captured and displaced to Rome, where they had to fight as gladiators. Later this term was used to describe a gladiator class whose fighters could be of quite different origin. The Roman gladiator Thraex would oppose the Murmillo in battle, this combination was one of the most popular duels in ancient Rome.
