Paperweight - MC Escher Circle Limit IV

The paperweight displays a typical feature, produced by the famous artist Maurits Cornelis Escher (1898-1972). As a Dutch graphic artist he was exploring mathematical rhythms, designs, illusionary art and laid the grounds for op art in the 20th century. In this paperweight object, here, he is playing with the fish motif which, like Millefiori glass from Italy or any sophisticated and special German artists Briefbeschwerer has a most mesmerising effect. Paperweights have in their most antique form been produced from the mid 19th century onward and are one of the sought after products in any gift shop. With our product here, we continue the process of offering a unique paperweight which, from its early beginnings, was always regarded as a very special weight product by individual artists. Go for a trip to Italy and visit their glass products museums, dive into their rich collections and you will discover the special varieties they have got. This was one of the main reasons for us to source this particular paper weight.

The producer
Parastone, an art shop in its own right in the Netherlands has turned Escher into a marvellous paper weight. As Escher's art is tightly protected, this is a fully licensed product.
