Pocketbook "Glorious Peacock"
The pocket book "Glorious Peacock" will be a great inspiration for you, if you make your notes and bear your remembrances in this colorful jotter fixed. The fabric envelope shows the king of birds, the male peacock, with the branch of peony around. This design is a detail of the decorations in an apartments in the New Palace in Sanssouci Park: a wall covering ''Peacock with the branch of peony''.

For the some Prussian Kings peacocks were a favourite bird. Frederick William II (Friedrich Wilhelm II) gave the name of "Peacock Island" to an island in the river Havel that he received in 1793 and created there the area of preservation of the nature. Also today Peacocks are walking on this island around enjoying their freedom, not constrained to a cage.

Frederick the Great, King of Prussia, had the numerous temples and follies in the park in his famous summer residence "Sanssouci", that is often counted among the German rivals of Versailles, while Sanssouci is in the Rococo style and is far smaller than French Palace. One of the apartments in this residence were decorated with the wall covering ''Peacock with the branch of peony''.
