The Aureus has a bust of the Emperor Domitian on one side and a cornucopia (horn of plenty) on the other. The cornucopia symbolises the prosperity brought to the Roman people by the Emperor. When Domitian came to power, he attempted to conquer the whole of Britain. The Roman army reached as far north as Inverness and the occupation reached its greatest extent circa 84AD but Britain was never wholly subdued.
These reproduction Aureus of Domitian coins are made from 22ct gold plated lead-free pewter and supplied on gold plated hypoallergenic ear wires. The information card is full colour on the front and has historical information on the reverse.
