Create mosaics like the Romans

The ancient Romans used to make mosaics in a variety in the private and public buildings.
This wonderful mosaics are constructed from geometrical blocks (tesserae). The mosaics maker placed this blocks together and created the shapes of figures and motifs. The tesserae were produced from local natural stone, with the additions of cut brick, tile and pottery. In this way it was created coloured shades of red, blue, yellow, black and white. The most common were even the polychrome patterns were most common, but there are known also monochrome examples.
Our mosaic set Ceraton is suitable for the children and students from various age groups from 6 years, they can enjoy their own creative and art experience. Young children will love to be able to develop the art of the ancient Romans and to create the own mosaics from the colorful stone. Older students will learn to recreate a specific historical mosaic or pattern and interpret the content of it.
The set is also most suitable for project weeks or workshops in museums.
