Senatori Town Coffepot Teapot Broomstreet Coffee Boys
Who thought, after the end of Postmodernism or Postmodernity that Pop Art would have a revival? And yet, Neo Pop Art popped up in the 1980s, just when most people thought that with the likes of Andy Warhol's death in 1987, the Pop Art movement had come to an end. Nevertheless, these Pop Artists were too inspirational that the new mode of a more austere and academic Post-Postmodernity could erase the fun and delight of Pop Art. With the creation of 'Rat-King', for example, of Katharina Fritsch and others, Pop-Art was reborn again.
The example here is created by the new generation of Neo Pop-Art, Selwyn Senatori, who is an Italian born artist (born 1973) who now lives and works in the Netherlands. He is well known far beyond the Netherlands for his neo-pop art, particularly for his figurative action paintings. One of his main inspirations is the Italian 'Dolce Vita', the Aristotelean good life. And he looks for inspiring things in life, like good food, fantastic wines, travelling with lots of inspirations taken from Italy, but also music, movies, women and design.
