Queen Louise of Prussia

The Queen Consort of Prussia was King Frederick William II's wife. She was the first to be given the title, "Queen of Hearts". She bore the King 9 children and two of their sons grew up to become the ruling sovereigns of Prussia (King Frederick William IV) and of the German Empire (Emperor William I). Her simple, compassionate, and charming nature begot her the respect and admiration of the Prussian people. Queen Louise was also highly devoted and supportive of her husband. He respected her intelligence and judgment that he asked her opinion on matters of the state. This preceded her rise within the Prussian politics and subsequently her famed negotiations with Napoleon Bonaparte for a better peace treaty for Prussia after their defeat to France. Her untimely death when she was just 34 years of age was a great loss for Prussia but her legacy lives on.
