Jane Avril, in the year 1895, replaced at the Moulin Rouge the famous dancer Louise Weber, better known as 'La Goulue', and very quickly established herself as a more elegant, softer and lyrical dancer at this establishment. She was loved by artists and other boehmians of the nightlife in Paris. As much as her own outspoken character, she became famous through Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec who created posters of her. One of those is the basis for our figurine which celebrates both Lautrec’s art work and the Parisian world of dancers. Details
